With the big day fast approaching, we at Plymbooks, have decided the best way to celebrate it, is with this fantastic graphic novel/comic book which can be shared by young and old alike. Few words, beautifully illustrated & coloured by some of the best British talent, published by a British publishing company - it really doesn't get any better than this. Of the many that were published, only a fraction of the copies are signed. This is because there has only been one signing event in London. Written by English graphic novelist Rich Johnston, it tells the life story of the happy couple in two directions.The front half of the book, drawn by the Welsh artist Mike Collins, tells Kate’s story in the manner of a 1970's girls comic book, with some very modern touches. Each event is given added depth and resonance by the use of a fictional diary. The back half, drawn by the Scottish artist Gary Erskine is more bombastic, following William from the rugby pitches of Eton to army officer training at Sandhurst before his army and RAF exploits, all the time narrated by newspaper headlines and mission briefings in a style more familiar to the army and sports comics for boys. The reputation of comic books has been growing for the last twenty years, no longer the preserve of the childish joke or the American superhero. Everything from political melodrama to cookbooks have found expression in comic books. Now Markosia Enterprises have found a way to tell this story in a very different way, a dramatic biography with two separate stories told from either end of the comic, coming together in the middle, a fictional look at the wedding day itself, with a kiss. We have for sale a stunning pair of books to commemorate the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games in Germany complete with all glued-in pictures. The blue cloth bound books have a gold embossed logo on the cover. They have the original dust jackets on both volumes. All text is in German. The books are in excellent condition with very few signs of use - it's hard to believe these volumes are over 70 years old!!! VOLUME ONE - covers the Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and has approx 128 pages, with many black & white photos of the competitors and teams, several colour plates and a large fold out at the end showing the venue. VOLUME TWO - covers the Summer Games and again has many black & white photos, colour plates and about 175 pages. There are many military figures at the medal presentations. Great snaps of Jessie Owens winning the sprint - fantastic!!! These superb books with all German text give a very detailed summary of the events and really evoke the period.

This George III Solid Silver Spoon was owned by Agatha Christie & her family and was purchased from the sale of items from Greenway House - a few years ago in 2006. It measures 114mm x 24mm and is in superb condition for it's age. Agatha loved Greenway House and spent most of her holidays in this beautiful estate in Devon, England. She and her family were great collectors and had an extensive collection of rare silver. The spoon with the initials D over T.H. was crafted by Charles Hougham who was born close to Regents Park in London 1748 and died in 1793. He was the son of Soloman Hougham who was the Mayor of Sandwich. Charles became a noted Silversmith & Goldsmith and many of his works are currently on show at Norwich Castle. We owned the three of these spoons in the Auction Catalogue at one time, but two were sold a long time ago - this is the third - and last one, kept back from sale - until now. This sale also includes The Greenway Sale Catalogue as full provenance of the authenticity of this item - Lot 251. The Catalogue itself is a wonderful collectable in it's own right with fantastic pictures of items from the Christie holiday home, Greenway House. It is a TRUE RARE book and one of the Limited Edition of 500 making this even more scarce. Danny Moynihan's "Boogie-Woogie" is the first novel that the New York art world has deserved for some time. As a curator and artist who worked extensively in both New York and London, Moynihan has had ample opportunity to observe the bitchy, hysterical, pretentious and money-driven art world that he recreates with often hilarious results in the book. The title comes from Piet Mondrian's famous painting "Broadway Boogie-Woogie", an iconic image of abstract expressionism painted in New York in the 1940s. Alfred and Alfreda Rheingold are the proud but eccentric owners of one of Mondrian's last Boogie-Woogie paintings. In sweaty pursuit of the Mondrian is the reptilian, golf-loving art dealer Art Spindle, who prides himself on once having "managed to sell a Picasso watercolour on the 11th green". What unfolds in the manic attempt to land the Mondrian is a dizzying montage of the great and the not so good of New York's art world. Its neurotic, self-seeking cast list includes the predatory tattooed lesbian video-artist Elaine, the vain but failed artist Jo Richard with a penchant for anal sex and the lecherous stammering collector Bob Macclestone with his "ah, Brancusi, ah, in the, ah, hallway". Moynihan paints a satirical and often hilarious portrait of the openings, closings and bad repartee of an art world where as one of Spindle's clients tells him, "That's business, Art". Told in the style of Robert Altman's film "Short Cuts" and reminiscent of Altman's own send-up of Hollywood life "The Player", "Boogie-Woogie" does at times become too clever for its own good and the hollowness of its entire cast grates towards the end. We even include the original envelope showing the address that this was originally sent to. Also included is a copy of the "National Magazine" from June 1945, featuring Churchill on the cover with the tag-line "Help Him Finish The Job". Inside the magazine are numerous pages of war reports, pictures and a piece by Anthony Eden. The back page features an article titled "After Germany - Japan..." The Tizzle Sisters and Erik book - is one of ONLY 800 copies already sold when the book's rights were bought by an International American Publisher - Tyndale Publishers - for a 7 figure sum. Out of the original print run of 20,000 by Markosia in 2006, 19,200 then had to be destroyed in accordance with the International agreement made and the book title was also re-named "The Dopple Ganger Chronicles" Of the 800 copies sold there are less than 300 copies signed, so you can see how scarce these books are now with very few SIGNED copies left for sale This is a Hardback First Edition, First Print with the cover art done by the very famous Cliff Wright - Cover Illustrator of several iconic J.K.Rowling "Harry Potter" titles, so you can see that no expense was spared on this original book. I'm A G Salmon the person who G P Taylor gave this story to, in order to turn it into the new style illustrated novel - the illustranovella - which will include both art and text to greatly enhance the reading experience for a visually orientated generation of children especially the ones not too keen on reading. I was heavily involved with Markosia Enterprises Ltd who went on to publish this book and owned the world wide rights on this publication. In 2006 Markosia Enterprises Limited Printed 20,000 hardback books for retail sale. In the following 3 months it was found to be difficult to sell them in the main retail stores, so a new cover was developed as the original one by Cliff Wright the "Harry Potter" cover artist did not suit the book. Dan Boultwood, a well known comic artist, who drew the images in the book, was commissioned to draw a new cover and this duly was done. In order to submit the new cover, 48 hardbacks were used and had the new cover version put onto the actual hardback version and then sent to retailers in order to gain distribution contracts with the main shops like, W.H Smith, Asda, Tesco, etc. From the 48 paperback versions made, approximately 25 were never returned or were destroyed, so, about 23 remained and these were returned to Markosia. We have a very small amount of these available and they are stamped and signed by the author. These were submitted with the Black A4 booklet to get the shops to sell them to the general public. This did not work out as planned either as the book was also submitted to Tyndale Publishers in the U.S.A who subsequently purchased the rights for the book in a 6 book deal with G P Taylor and Markosia so all other deals ceased to be. We are delighted to present a complete One-of-a-Kind for sale, the first ever, conceptual drawing of the "Tizzle Sisters" from the same book title which was done in July 2006 at the Bristol Comic Fair In producing the images for this new style book, myself and G P Taylor were trying to get the right image of how the Twins would look. The actual drawing is on Acetate art card for comics which is 10 inches by 8 inches and is hand signed by Dan Boultwood in the bottom right hand corner. For those of you keeping up with our other Tizzle Sisters sales, his name will ring a bell as the eventual cover artist and interior artist for the Markosia AND Tyndale Tizzle Sisters/Dopple Ganger Chronicles - I hope you are keeping up!!! Back to the Bristol Comic Fair then, the official photographer was Sarah(photo-girl) and she had travelled with Graham to the Fair to promote Graham’s "Shadowmancer" comic series which had just been released and this was the first time an “A“ list author had been published from book into monthly comic series - another first for the wonderful G.P. Sarah happens to dress in Victorian style clothes and whilst talking to Graham and Dan Boultwood the artist, I happened to catch a particular look of Sarah and asked Dan to draw an image of her as if she were one of the twins. This was done and we all loved the first ever image that much that Dan went on to draw from this original concept drawing. There were some slight changes made which included putting the twins into trousers, however, the actual image did not vary very much at all. I had some images made by Sarah and the first ever true picture of the Twins emerged and Sarah became the then, Twins model. The actual drawing is in Blue-pencil and is signed by Dan and carries the Markosia embossing stamp on the bottom of the drawing. This really is where the image of the twins was formed and all of the items included are unique and come with a lifetime guarantee that they are as stated. What an investment/Collectors piece!!! GEORG JENSEN CHRISTMAS CANDLE LANTERN From childhood, Georg Jensen had longed to be a sculptor so he pursued this course of study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated in 1892 and began exhibiting his work. Although his clay sculpture was well received, making a living as a fine artist proved difficult and he turned his hand to the applied arts, first as a modeller at the Bing & Grøndahl porcelain factory and, beginning in 1898, with a small pottery workshop he founded in partnership with Christian Petersen. Again the work was well received, but sales were not strong enough to support Jensen, at this point a widower with two small sons. In 1901, he abandoned ceramics and began again as a silversmith and designer with the master, Mogens Ballin. This led Jensen to make a landmark decision, when in 1904, he risked what small capital he had and opened his own little silversmithy at 36 Bredgade in Copenhagen...the rest is history. Georg Jensen died in 1935, but in the preceding years he instilled in the firm, his strongly held ideals concerning both artistry in design and excellence in craftmanship, this tradition has been adhered to throughout the twentieth century. As well as superior silver work the company has excelled in fine Christmas decorations - mainly mobiles, candle holders etc. as well as many other useful household items FOR SALE is a beautiful and delicate Christmas Candle Lantern. This is a First edition, FIRST PRINTING in Hardcover. One of only 300 copies printed. It contains the error of crediting "Joanne Rowling" not J K on the verso page. Thomas Taylor 1997 error on verso page. It also includes the young Dumbledore to the rear board. Original pictorial laminated boards, without dust wrapper as issued and the laminate is not chipped and still full. A very nice copy with only light rubbing to the extremities on the spine at the bottom. The binding is square and tight, the covers clean and bright. The contents are entirely complete with no loose or torn pages, no inscriptions or stamps and most of all - no dog-ears. Other than the usual tanning to the text block caused by the poor quality paper used in production, the pages are clean. This really is the best of the Harry Potter books to collect and very few are now left available for sale as most are now in top collector's libraries and if they do appear are sold at over £25,000.00. Unread and in as new condition with an as new condition dust jacket in a mylar cover WHAT A FIND!!! This is a very unique book and we have never seen anything like it before. It appears to be a proof copy that we assume was used for approval purposes in publishing the eventual book and really unusually - IT IS SIGNED by JK Rowling herself There is a block of text missing from page 260. The book comes with the printer’s splice piece of the missing text that read: Splicing Systems 1000 B05. There were 20 million of these books printed and this appears to be one of the first copies off the press. This is a unique opportunity to acquire what must be one of the rarest Harry Potter books on the planet!!! This is hand signed by JK Rowling in black pen and is a beautiful instantly recognisable example of her flowing & totally original signature. Also there is the scarce Order of the Phoenix large card bag to go with the book - it is very scarce as it was only available from Bloomsbury for one day only - 21st June 2003 the day of the book's launch and only if it was purchased from a WH Smith store in the UK. This next item is fascinating, it is an Original Production-Used Storyboard from the film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This was used by the cameraman actually filming the scenes in the film, and has his camera movements marked on by hand, proof that this is a real piece from the set of the film. It is not the first pencil drawing of course, that would cost thousands, but this is a production used original which is undeniably the next best thing This Storyboard contains images from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix specifically when Harry meets Professor Snape. It is cased in a custom made polished acrylic display, with a backdrop specially designed to show off the piece and protect it. It has two laser cut acrylic keyholes on the back so is ready to hang. It was purchased from a university student who's parents & grandparents all worked or work in the film industry. His father's company have had these backdrops made, so the displays are unique!!! The backdrop is on acid-free stock and specially printed with archive inks so it won't ever fade. This also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Managing Director of the family company, giving a quick history of the company, interesting information, and a brief history of the films that the family all worked on, for example, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Superman to name a few!!! It would look superb on the wall or placed on a shelf as it is certainly not too big or overpowering, measuring 18" or 46cm in length & 13" or 33cm wide. Made up especially and certainly not mass produced in any way at all, it cannot be bought in ANY shops or High Street Stores. Next for sale in the set is a rare invite to the exclusive Cast Screening of the film at the Odeon Leicester Square on the 24th June 2007. It did not open to the public until Thursday 12th July 2007. The invite is from David Hayman - the film's producer & Heyday Films and is ticket number 420. It is in excellent condition though, of course, it has been used on the night. The last item for sale is a World Premiere Press/TV Pass. This was given to press at the world premiere of the film in London. On 13th December 2007, Sotheby's of London auctioned a very special book - The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, by Harry Potter author JK Rowling. The estimate for the book was set at £30,000 - £50,000. This turned out to be an extremely conservative estimate, as the final hammer price was over £2,000,000. The book was one of 7 hand-written and personally illustrated by Ms Rowling. 6 of them were presented to family and people who were closely involved in the film series and the 7th was the one that was sold so spectacularly at Sotheby's. Harry Potter fans will recognise the title as being mentioned in the final (or is it??) book in the series - Deathly Hallows. AUCTION CATALOGUE: This special, limited edition auction catalogue, produced by Sotheby's to commemorate the event is a rare item in itself. With the recent publication of the full book, this auction catalogue is set to become even more collectable as a one-time commemoration of the £2 million original. The 5" x 7" book is printed on very heavy-stock paper, almost card. Genuine UK FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINT of this highly sought after, iconic first title in the remarkable series of books written by JK Rowling. It was published by Bloomsbury, UK, 1997 and is the true UK First Edition First Printing of the original UK trade paperback. Issued as a small print run with the number line 10 down to 1 This is Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone, BOOK ONE of the series, where it all began!!! To the verso of the title page is the all important number line with all ten numbers '10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1' indicating the genuine UK 1st. The book is in super condition. It is accredited to Joanne Rowling NOT JK. There is no space between "Taylor" and "1997". The young wizard Dumbledore can be found on the back cover. It has, of course, as First Edition First Print two wands listed on page 53. It is clean and undamaged, even the spine looks unbroken as if it hasn't even been read, the bottom of the front cover has the famous quote by Wendy Cooling which disappeared, by the third print, to a quote from the Sunday Times There are only 3 very neat school stamps, one on the front end paper in small letters, another on page 143, and again on the inside rear cover - please see photo. They are not obtrusive and could be removed by a professional. There are no other inscriptions or marks at all, the page block is tight and it has no tears, rips or loose pages. There is some light tanning to the inside pages which is expected and typical of the paper stock used. This is because the paper used was never intended as anything more than a disposable read. It is a wonderful copy of the first book with ALL the famous, extremely well known errors associated with it. Completing this item is a burgundy slipcase for you to slip your prize tome into, so it remains safe and sound.

You're a huge Harry Potter fan and have carefully chosen the books. You've built up your collection and are now looking for some unusual items to further add to that collection. Look no further. This chocolate bar is VERY rare as it was NOT sold in shops. It is approx. 3 1/4" by 6 1/4". On the label is says "With thanks from all at Repforce Ireland - July 2005" and obtained from someone who was given it when she worked in a bookstore in Ballymena - Northern Ireland during the launch of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". It has never been opened and has a tiny tear in the foil at the top, which is nothing, considering what could have happened to it...and probably happened to all the others...yum!!! There really has to be very few of these still surviving today - just try finding another A super, really unusual collectable, exactly the sort of thing we love to find.
