MAL GROSSE Original Oil on Canvas of a Typhoon or Euro Fighter - Signed by the Artist United Kingdom Private 2010 Original Oil Framed Superb Aviation Art SIGNED by Artist - Original Oil Painting
For sale is a beautiful framed oil painting on 30x20” canvas of the Eurofighter Typhoon that has been painted by someone who not only flew military aircraft, he has crashed them as well!!!! Mal Grosse was born in Lancaster, England. He was educated at the Royal Grammar School before joining the Royal Air Force in 1962. During the next 27 years, as a pilot, he flew Hunters, Buccaneers and the Tornado, served four years in the Middle East, and attended the Australian Air Force Staff College. He was awarded the Queen’s Commendation and the Air Force Cross, retiring in 1988 as a Wing Commander. Mal then joined British Aerospace with responsibility for Eurofighter Typhoon marketing, spending his last four years in Canberra as Vice President of the Typhoon sales campaign in Australia. Giving up full time work in 2000, he has maintained his aviation passion through oil painting, diversifying with other subjects such as flora and human form. His works now hang worldwide. Mal, a pilot in Aden on 8 Squadron from July 1964 to May 1966, recalls his relief at walking away unscathed from a serious incident along with his recommendations for recuperating after such episodes “On 5 Aug 1965, I was No.2 of a 4-ship simulated strike being led by Iain Porteous in the Wadi Meifa area. In a starboard turn at low level, I had a hydraulic failure warning, quickly followed by the controls going into manual. Accompanied by Iain, I climbed to high level for the return to Khormaksar and during the subsequent recovery to base I started my landing checks, which included blowing down the undercarriage with emergency air. The procedure involved a push ’n pull on the emergency undercarriage selector, which was fastened by a length of cable to a bicycle-type brake connector on top of the air bottle. Sadly, on the previous major servicing the aforesaid connector had been left unconnected, and I found myself grasping the selector which was attached to a dangling piece of unattached cable! Fortunately the emergency flap lever was connected, and the inevitable wheels-up arrival on the 100-gallon drop tanks was relatively uneventful. I seem to recall that XE530 was repaired and back on the line within a matter of weeks. The incident took place around lunchtime, and by mid-afternoon I was in the Tarshyne beach bar downing a quantity of freely provided Amstel, reveling in the adoration of the lovely BOAC ladies who had arrived from the UK that morning. The rest is for me to remember and others to guess!” Eurofighter Typhoon (formerly Eurofighter 2000) is Europe's premier swing role fighter jet. Designed and constructed by a consortium of companies under contract to the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain. The project was dogged by political wrangling, budget over-runs and major shifts in world affairs from the start. These in turn played a significant role in its delayed service entry. Originally scheduled to become operational in the late 90's the first squadron wasn't declared combat ready with the RAF till 2006. Whilst many continue to criticise its usefulness in today’s environment, ever changing world events suggest its existence is a wise precaution. Price:

The rest is for me to remember and others to guess!” Concorde...The Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde supersonic transport (SST) was one of only two models of supersonic passenger airliners to have seen commercial service. It had a cruise speed of mach 2.04 and a cruise altitude of 60,000 feet (17,700 meters) with a delta wing configuration and an evolution of the afterburner equipped engines originally developed for the Avro Vulcan strategic bomber. It is the first civil airliner to be equipped with an analogue fly-by-wire flight control system. Commercial flights, operated by British Airways and Air France, began on January 21, 1976, and ended on October 24, 2003, with the last "retirement" flight on November 26, that year. Mal has gone on to produce 300 Limited Edition Prints of this stunning painting and we are hoping to have them available soon, here on Plymbooks. We hope you enjoy his paintings as much as we do and with the murmurings of a possible new Concorde roll out in the future, this painting is sure to evoke strong memories from all the original devotees who strongly supported this unique service in the past. 'Emin retains a profoundly romantic world view, paired with an uncompromising honesty ... A remarkable book - and a beautiful mind.' -- Croydon Advertiser 'A fantastically engaging storyteller...Emin is heartbreaking ... but she's also effortlessly funny ... This book is a reminder of why so many people respond with their hearts to her work.' -- Metro 'It took me by surprise with its incredibly upfront yet poignant portrait of Tracey's life. No pretension, no primadonna hysterics - just a beautifully crafted and brutally honest exploration of her world. It blew me away.' -- Hugo Hutchison 'Reading STRANGELAND is like drinking a bottle of vodka with Tracey and listening to her talk, with real honesty, about everything. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting her warmth, wit and humour. It really is wonderful.' -- Louise Sherwin-Stark 'It took me totally by surprise - her ability as a writer, the mixture of styles, the brutal honesty of it all. It feels as if it has been stripped of all superfluous material and we're left with only those moments of her life that Tracey feels are defining and important.' -- Brett Woods These are just some of the comments that this book engenders. It is a great insight into the life of a very talented lady with experiences that most of us couldn't begin to imagine. An inspired, artistic mind driven to the edge by its creativity.
