The Hobbit - 1976 Calendar - One of the First Calendars of the series., J.R.R. TOLKIEN
1 J.R.R. TOLKIEN The Hobbit - 1976 Calendar - One of the First Calendars of the series.
N/A Georg Allen & Unwin 1976 One of the first Calendars Paper & Card Excellent Children's Fiction Fantasy NONE

One of the earliest, of the ongoing series of Tolkien Calendars.

This one features 12 illustrations done by Tolkien himself for the Unwin Edition of "The Hobbit".

It is in superb condition and comes complete with the original paperboard mailer, which has a bit of damage and a little pen scribbling to the flap on the back. The front of the mailer, however, is in excellent condition and the fact that it is complete in the envelope has also kept the calendar in superb condition.

There can not be many of these left for sale and certainly not in such good condition. The illustrations are STUNNING.

Even though the proposed film in 2012 has suffered from a few glitches so far, it does boast a handsome "A list" cast and one that will bring Tolkien's work to a new generation of fans as well as the already well established ones.

This is a must-have for any Tolkien completist.

The Perfect Circle - Beautiful Chinese Glassware, LIULIGONGFANG - The Georg Jensen of the Glassware World
3 LIULIGONGFANG - The Georg Jensen of the Glassware World The Perfect Circle - Beautiful Chinese Glassware
Liuligongfang 2001 1229 of 1520 pieces GLASS Excellent Glassware N/A

'The centre is a perfect circle - throughout the world of humankind the iron shoe breaks through and in a sudden instant there is enlightenment'

We have long been fans of Glass in it's artistic form, from makers such as Ditchfield and Lalique. This "Perfect Circle" is made by Liuligongfang - Taiwan's only contemporary glass studio devoted to artistic Chinese glassware.

Since it's establishment in 1987, Liuligongfang has developed a very strong international reputation, with factories all over the world, including 3 in the USA, and has become known as the Georg Jensen of the glassware world.

The Perfect Circle is a beautifully tactile object, with a gradient of colours from Green to Orange. The moulding on the top depicts two heads of a dragon.

External diameter = 8.5cm, Height = 3cm

Series number 1229 of 1520 pieces.

Complete with gift box, which has slight wear from storage, and original gift card with text in English and Chinese.

This is a rare collectors item, and a beautiful addition to any glassware collection
